Are we really whining about $2.5 million?

Why, yes we are, if by “we” one means “Republicans.”

I work for the U.S. Census Bureau, developing training for people doing back-office things like hiring and payroll. It sure isn’t glamorous, but it’s nothing compared to the horror and drudgery of the poor bastards going door-to-door when Tea Party screwballs refuse to send in their Census forms because “I ain’t helpin’ no tax man.”

I’m no businessman, certainly no Republican, but even my liberal arts education teaches me that spending $2.5 million on advertisements that save $85 million per one percent increase in response rates is a pretty good investment.

Not like some other billion-dollar failures I could easily point out.
