We’re in Ohio for a few days, soaking up the sun, finding inspiration from the rampant prosperity, reading beneath the shady trees in the warmth.
Actually, this is what it looks like:
Note the tiny wooden deer target in the brambles in front of the tractor. People in Ohio are such badasses that they put random wooden deer all over the place to shoot, like in Hogan’s Alley. You’ll be walking down the street or shopping at the mall or brushing your teeth and then–bang!–a deer target pops up. If you don’t blast it in half with a well-placed hip shot from your rifle, you’re escorted to the state line.
True story.
Actually, Ohio is pleasantly peaceful and quiet, and the landscape is gorgeous with its rolling fields and stands of woods. This could be a candidate location for a summer house once I score that multi-million dollar book deal (though I still prefer the Shenandoah valley!).
(And yes, writing is still getting done!)
